New HEP Panels Now Shipping

The HEP series panels provide single wall isolation between a DHW tank and a heating system. The new panels demonstrate HeatLink’s commitment to continuing innovation. The panels provide a pre-engineered, high quality solution that eliminates the need for on-site design. The panels are easily serviced and replaceable and utilize a modular approach for ease of installation.

HEP025 is discontinued. HEP080, HEP095, and HEPPS are available while supplies last.

1-1/2" PEX-a Non Barrier Tubing Now Available

HeatLink is pleased to announce the availability of our 1-1/2" non barrier PEX-a tubing. Adding 1-1/2" PEX-a tubing to our product lineup demonstrates our commitment to providing complete heating and plumbing solutions for customers. HeatLink’s new 1-1/2" PEX-a tubing is light weight and durable, requires fewer fittings, and can be easily repaired if the tubing is kinked. The tubing works with HeatLink’s press system, is UV stabilized, and comes with a 25 year system warranty.

The tubing will have a black print strip. 1-1/2" SS Press Sleeves, tools, and no lead brass fittings are also available.

Andy Morrow - HeatLink Product ManagerHeatLink is pleased to announce that Andrew (Andy) Morrow has joined our team as Product Manager. Morrow is a Professional Engineer with extensive experience in product development, HVAC, controls and renewable energy sectors, working in a variety of firms from Mechanical Contractors to Consulting Engineers.  Morrow has over 15 years of experience in the plumbing and HVAC industry and graduated with a Building Services Engineering degree (mechanical and electrical) from the University of Ulster in Belfast, UK.

Morrow is very familiar with the HeatLink team and culture having previously worked for the company as the Head of the Technical department. He has worked in Canada and internationally over the last several years but is very pleased to be able to re-join the Heatlink team in a new role as Product Manager.

“Andy was an important asset for HeatLink in the past and we were disappointed to see him the leave the organization to travel the world in 2003,” said Manfred Schmidt, president, HeatLink Group. “It is a testament to his skills and enthusiasm for the HVAC and plumbing industry that we are very pleased to have him rejoin our organization.”

HeatLink Announces Next Generation Snow Melt Panels

HeatLink is pleased to announce the release of our next generation of snow melt panels based on the proven construction of stainless steel piping. Compared to the copper SMP panels, they are smaller, lighter, include the primary pump, provide better value, and are more affordable.

The new panels extend HeatLink’s Mechanical Room in a Box line of panels that are designed to counter the increasing inconsistency of installations that occurred in the heating market over the past several decades.

By placing the most common components of a hydronic snow melt installation (mainly wiring, control, pumps and mixing valves) on a plug-in panel with an appliance-like cover, panels have simplified the installation process and added a level of standardization.

There are a total of five new snow melt panels which are all perfect for most small commercial applications. Three models are available with heat exchangers for use with a non-dedicated heat source. Two models are available without heat exchangers for use with a dedicated heat source. All are building management system (BMS) compatible and have an alarm contact to signal when a sensor is out of its operating range.

These new snow melt panels also use a new snow/ice detector that is sold separately. The DRVWSNS-SS detects both moisture and temperature and comes with a socket. The socket is embedded in concrete, not the sensor. This makes the exposed sensor easily replaceable in case it is damaged.

The release of the new panels demonstrates HeatLink’s position as an innovative company focused on constantly improving plumbing and heating technology.

There are numerous time saving and efficiency benefits of the LoopCAD program for customers. A few significant key improvements of LoopCAD over HeatLink Design Suite would include the following:

  • Readily provides the loop layout as a part of the design process.
  • Both ASHRAE and CSA calculations possible, allowing standardization of design calculations.
  • Allows the designer to visually assess the radiant design as it proceeds.
  • Much easier to update both pricing and products.
  • Works with PDFs as easily as with AutoCAD drawings.
  • Provides exact loop lengths and quantities which decreases the amount of tubing to be quoted.
  • Automatically tallies all loop lengths to provide an optimized tubing quantity without the need for cut schedules.
  • Automatically updates all fields when any portion of the layout or design parameters change.
  • Automatically updates all loop layout tagging labels and tables when any changes are implemented.
  • Provides a real time detailed radiant analysis illustrating over/under heated areas on a room-by-room basis.

In summary, the turn around time to produce an optimized materials list is significantly improved, and the ability make any revisions is greatly enhanced.

New Pressure Test Kit with Valve

HeatLink now offers the #79965 Pressure Test Kit with Valve. The valve allows for the gauge to be "zeroed" and demonstrate that the system is under pressure.

The #79935 Pressure Test Kit (without valve) will continue to be available.

Pressure test kits are for use with TwistSeal (55 mm), TwistSeal Mini (40 mm), and Stainless Steel manifolds. It replaces the automatic air vent on cross tee (TwistSeal) or hosebib (Stainless Steel) for testing purposes. Kits include two 1" plugs and 4 red rubber gaskets (2 are spares) for use with TwistSeal Mini (40mm) kits. For air tests use the red rubber gaskets; for hydrostatic tests use green fibre gaskets (included in manifold assembly kits).
